about us and what we do

The mission of the Letcher County Adult Education is to provide, free of charge, educational services for people who want a second chance in life. While Letcher County is considered the 99th poorest county in the country, we believe this should in no way limit your ability to achieve success in life. Some main services we offer are:

Earning your GED can be one of the important things you will ever do. We can help you get ready for the GED test by building on your strengths in all areas covered. You can take practice tests, get tutoring, and can even work online in areas you need help with. Contact us to get started taking the first step of what may turn out to be a lifelong journey. If you have already earned your high school diploma or GED, congratulations! Now, what do you plan to do next? You can always use that to find a job, but why not go further. On average, college graduates earned $51,554 in 2004, while those with a high school diploma or GED earned around $28.645. That is a difference of $22.909!* We are here to help you every step along the way, from the day you have your first class, until the day you graduate.
